How can we help?

We are MotVind UK CIC, which means a Community Interest Company.
We have spent some time now putting together a package of work to help communities facing wind farm developments.
Unlike developers, communities often have a very limited budget available through their own fundraising so we have focussed on providing the most effective solution for minimal cost.
It is time to formalise that so here is our 6 step solution:
1. Facebook public group creation and admin. Free of charge.
2. Wind Farm Mapping and visualisations using Google Earth Pro at £100 for the model and £5 each for additional images.
3. Scoping analysis and representation to PEDW at £100.
4. Pre Application Consultation analysis and representation if required at £300 (but with option for a dedicated step 6 at £400 if required). This is the earliest that we see the developer's full details so it is a very important step but it’s up to the group whether they want to engage with developers or not.
5. Planning Application analysis and representation at £500 for which reflects the extra time spent researching with our 'trade secret'.
6. Dedicated email campaign that allows individuals to easily send a personalised representation to the planning authority at £400 for up to 1000 successfully submitted objections.
That means a budget of around £1,400 to £1,500 with every option listed above but without repeating stage 6 twice. (Developers usually have their own system for this at PAC).
Further to this, we can attend virtual planning hearings for your group at extra cost which would bring our budget figure up to a total of around £2,000.
We are the first to admit that we are not planning professionals and do not have the relevant letters after our name to make us an ‘expert witness’ at a public enquiry, (which is unlikely but not impossible under the Welsh DNS regime), so if your group can afford to engage a higher paid / better qualified expert (at circa £600 to £800 a day), that is absolutely fine by us but our approach should help reduce their fees considerably as we will have done a lot of the legwork for them.
We will work with your group to incorporate your local knowledge into representations. Importantly, we can produce the material you need well within consultation deadlines.
Please message or email us at motvinduk@gmail.com if you would like further information. We can supply you with a sample project for you to examine and judge for yourselves. Thank you for reading and we look forward to helping your community soon.
